Perfectly poised between practice and theory, we will be spending this intensive weekend learning about and experiencing three important forms of yoga practice: Asana (postures), pranayama (breathing exercises) and meditation.
We will begin by deepening our understanding of the most well known form of yoga practice: Asana (postures).
From the influence of asana-s on our physical, mental and emotional health, to the role of breathing in postures, with some handy hints to help us make the most of our practice, Marc will gently stretch the boundaries of asana practice to unimagined limits.
We will then move on to learn about pranayama.
According to the ancient and fundamental yogic texts, pranayama is the most powerful tool to calm the mind. Marc will define what is meant in yoga by mental agitation, so that we can understand the benefits of conscious breathing. We will take time to experiment this technique which is open to everybody.
Lastly, we will discover and experience the benefits of meditation.
Meditation is a precious and very real tool for anyone wishing to embark on a journey of personal transformation, or heal an emotional wound.
It can take different forms, and the object of meditation can be either concrete or abstract.
Marc will show us how accessible this simple yet effective technique really is.
To end this intensive experimental weekend, we will learn how it is possible combine all three techniques in one powerful practice.
